  • NITRO TAP

Tap 13 - NITRO - Old Speckled Hen English Pub Ale

This great British ale was first brewed in 1979 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic MG car factory in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. A high proportion of Crystal malt in Old Speckled Hen provides the key toffee/caramel flavour. The yeast used to ferment the beer provides the other key character - estery or banana/pear drop. This estery note provides the fruity and refreshing balance. The hops used add a palate cleansing herbal note and very slight orange citrus. A very malty, full bodied and warming ale.

Aging our award-winning golden ale in freshly emptied bourbon barrels layers the beer with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak, and a hint of bourbon. First brewed back in 2004, Curieux remains our most popular barrel-aged beer. To make this beer, we age our Tripel in bourbon barrels for approximately seven weeks. After that time is up, we blend the barrel-aged beer with a portion of fresh Tripel, to bring out the beer’s notes of passion fruit and honey. The result is a flavorful and multi-layered ale with a crisp, dry finish.

  • Tap 32 - New Belgium 1554 Enlightened Dark Ale

1554 defies the style guidelines of modern beer. Although dark in color, 1554 is not a porter, stout, schwarzbier or bock. Rather, it is a rebirth of a lost beer style called zwert (Flemish for black), which uses gruit for bittering. The oldest reference to zwert beer comes from 1285. However, our brewing inspiration came from a book published in 1554, which was the height of popularity for zwert beer. First released in 1998, our whimsical improvisation includes a variety of specialty dark malts, a dash of licorice root, and a European lager yeast that’s fermented at ale temperatures.

  • Tap 35 - Bitburger Premium Pils

Without a doubt, pils (also called ‘pilsner’) is Germany’s favourite style of beer. Fans of this style of brewing enjoy the dry, bitter flavour and light colour that is typical of the beers it produces. The name originates from the Bohemian town of Pilsen in the Czech Republic, where it was first produced in 1842, and we’ve been brewing this style of beer to perfection here in Bitburg since 1883. We lay claim to using the term "Pilsener" for the first time in Germany, way back in 1883, and pioneering pilsner as an official designated beer style in Germany. And over the years it’s grown quite popular – we’re incredibly proud that Bitburger Premium Pils is the most poured premium pilsner in bars across Germany! Our straw-coloured pilsner is crystal-clear and perfectly hopped, boasting a light taste and a lasting foam head with extra-fine bubbles. This all combines for a moment of pure pilsner enjoyment.

We are back with another huge West Coast IPA. We hit this beer with a heap of old school west coast hops for that piney dank citrusy flavor. A big dose of Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, and Chinook combine with a dry hop of Centennial and Amarillo for a delicious hop character leading into a crisp and delicious malt character.

Little Whaleboat Islands (made up of Little Whaleboat, Nate and Tuck) are a cluster of 3 small islands and ledges in Casco Bay, a vital link in the chain of protected islands conserved by Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Protection of these islands provides sanctuary to a range of wildlife including seals, seabirds, shorebirds, and wading birds, while preserving a unique place off the coast of Maine for future generations to experience. Flavors: Aromas of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and pine. Floral notes of rose and chamomile. Hops: Citra, Mosaic, Columbus, Talus.

420 Strain Series Release This aromatic super-hybrid sticky IPA is first and foremost a phenomenally delicious and drinkable beer, with the added bonus of an olfactory experience that mimics that of the legendary G13 cannabis strain. The IPA base brew has a great body, good head and nice amount of haze at a pleasurable 6% ABV. To work with the malt bill, the brewers added some of their dankest hops, Columbus and Simcoe, plus two dry hop additions. To achieve the aroma, our brewers found the perfect botanically-sourced, strain specific terpenes and married them with proprietary natural hemp flavor, both perfectly complementing the hops in the IPA.

Tap 63 - Florida Keys Iguana Bait Honey Hibiscus Kölsch

A honey hibiscus kölsch made with local Keys honey and hibiscus. A light, refreshing, keezy breezy beer with sweetness from the honey and a slight tart fruitiness from the hibiscus. Kölsch is a traditional German-style beer hailing from Cologne, made using only barley, hops, water and yeast. We completely destroyed the purity law and complimented a German-style kölsch with honey and hibiscus. We named it Iguana Bait because the local iguanas' favorite meal is big beautiful hibiscus flowers.
